Open Days

Open Days and group visits are organised on a regular basis. If you would like to spend an enjoyable boat cruise in the Marlborough Sounds and visit our wildlife park, the Tui team creates an entertaining day programme.
Two open days are planned for 2015 – Saturday the 21st of February and Sunday the 1st of March

You can expect the following on an open day:

  • A gathering at the mini lodge where you can enjoy your lunch.
  • A closer look into our breeding for release programme with species for Kakariki and Giant Weta.
  • A guided walk through parts of the reserve.

In short, it's a unique way to experience the Outer Pelorus in the Marlborough Sounds.
Thanks to the partly sponsored trip by the Pelorus Explore (our local mailboat), the cost is only $60 pp or $55 pp if you are a Tui Nature Reserve member.

Some conditions apply:

After arrival on the wharf, a reasonable fitness level is required for the 40 minute walk uphill. There is transport available for a limited numbers of visitors.

We advise you bring good walking shoes.

Bring your own lunch.

This outing is not suitable for young children. Older children are half price.

Our next tour dates are on Saturday the 21st of February and on Sunday the 1st of March 2015.

Leaving the Havelock Marina - Marlborough Sounds - at 9.00am (please arrive half an hour prior to departure at the blue mailboat office in the marina). Return time is approximately 5.30pm.

PLEASE MAKE YOUR BOOKING AT 03-5741088
